2022 Aug Newsletter
Kia Ora ,
Here are a few key notices for August.....
Photo Night Update
Hopefully your Manager has passed this on by now, but the team photo timetable is now available (see attached).
The venue is the Brooklyn Community Centre. Parking around Harrison Street will be tight so we recommend finding a place on McKinley Crescent/Garfield St (and walking up the path - see the link for Google Maps) or elsewhere on Cleveland Street.
As space on site will be limited, only the Players, Coaches and Managers (i.e those in the photo) will be able to come into the community centre. Others - please wait on the deck outside.
One change from the messaging we gave to the Managers the other week - there will be no sausage sizzle (sorry!). The current playground construction activity outside the venue has meant we cant hold it. We will make sure to have a sausage sizzle at the prizegiving.
However, there will be some players holding a cake stall to fundraise for the AIMS games. So please feel free to send your player along with a gold coin to buy something after their photo. The cake stall will be outside, near the water fountain (and is weather dependent).

Prizegiving – Return of cups at photo night
Did you player win a Trophy last year? If so, it's time to return them so we can get some new names added. Please bring these back and hand them to Ian at the photo night.
Greening Travel – competition
We are keen to highlight the efforts many of us are making to reduce the carbon footprint associated with travel to/from games and practices. As a club, this is one of the biggest things we can do to reduce climate change impacts. Actions underway include carpooling, a walking bus, biking, public transport, or something else!
To promote and reward these actions we are running a competition. Simply send us a photo of your action, in action! Everyone that submits a photo will go in the draw to win a $100 Kilbirnie Sports voucher.
A few things to note:
Photos will be created into a collage and published on social media. So make sure whatever photo you provide is suitable and everyone in the photo is happy for it to be published.
Competition closes Wednesday 31 August

Congratulations
Well done to former BNUJFC footballers: Samantha Whyte, who represented NZ Universities in Portugal at the Futsal Uni world cup in July; and Charlotte Wilford-Carroll, who has been selected for the Women's U20 World Cup in Costa Rica (starting next week).
Lets hope we get some drier football weather this weekend!
Thanks, Sam and BNUJFC committee
