2021 Aug Newsletter

Kia ora BNUJFC members,

The season is nearly over and we hope it has been a positive one for you. Here are a few end of season notices.

Prize giving

Prize giving will be held on Sunday 29th August at Newtown Park. It is a great event to celebrate all the hard work the players, coaches and managers have put in to the season. The bbq will be on so sausages will be available for all as well as flavoured water and coffee. Please bring your own cup/mug for this.

The prize giving will be completed in 3 sessions, so make sure you know when your team should be there.

Please ensure you arrive before your session starts

First Kicks do their own prize giving at Tanera Park and more info on this will be sent to the First Kicks parents soon.

Thank you!

We have had loads of support from the local community and would like to give them a big thank you!

Moore Wilson’s for all the sausages on Photo Night.

These people who generously provided spot prizes for our movie fundraiser:

And to Pivotal Print who are kindly printing all the team photos and First Kicks certificates.

Brooklyn's  Got Talent

We are happy to announce the Brooklyn's Got Talent contest. A contest to celebrate and recognise player skills and involvement in football matches from the 2021 season.

Just share videos where your son or daughter has showed some awesome skills playing in a BNUJFC or Alliance team. Players appearing in a published video will get recognition in the prize giving ceremony.

Just send your video before the 28th of August and join us to celebrate football in Brooklyn!

Details and rules

To submit videos or for any questions or doubts, don’t hesitate to email us at bnutalent @ bnujfc.co.nz

Futsal

If players are keen to continue working on their football skills in the off season, Futsal will be available again at the ASB Sports Centre on Sundays in Term 4. The club is not involved in these teams so a parent needs to coordinate entry. However, the club is happy to provide the playing shirts.

Information on this should be going onto the Capital Football website soon.

Treasurer Role

Do you love numbers as well as football?  After four years of doing the number crunching for us, our current Treasurer is retiring from the committee at the end of the season.  Julie’s son’s time with BNUJFC is drawing to an end so it’s time for her to hand over the Treasury reins.  The role is ideal for someone with working accounts knowledge, so if you are keen to join our fun, enthusiastic, committee, please get in touch with Sam Bridgman our Chair, or email us at info@bnujfc.co.nz.

Experience in Comms?

The committee will also be looking for someone to look after the clubs communication next year.  Sound like you? Get in touch with Sam Bridgman our Chair, or email us at info@bnujfc.co.nz

If you don’t love numbers or comms doesn’t sound like you, but you do love football then please also consider joining the committee next year! Just let us know and we can provide more information.
