2021 Sept Newsletter
Kia ora BNUJFC members,
Well it was not the end of the season we were hoping for but at least we got a good lot of games in before another lockdown. Here are a few end of season notices.
Prize giving
Unfortunately with us still being in Level 2 we are not going to be able to have the normal club prize giving as planned. Managers and Coaches will be in contact with you soon on how your team decides to celebrate the end of season.
The committee would like to thank all the team managers and coaches for all their hard work over the season. We wouldn’t be able to do it without you!
Thank you Julie!
Unfortunately, as we are not having prize giving we can't thank Julie publicly. So please give a big virtual clap to Julie Seevens for her 4 years as Treasurer of the committee. The bills have always been paid on time and the accounts always balanced! Your hard work over the years Julie is greatly appreciated.
Say Goodbye…
We say goodbye to Hannah Temple and Jennifer deSaxe from the committee. Both have been great additions to the committee this year especially in promoting the club heavily in the preseason. Hannah followed on with strong involvement in the First Kicks programme, the Capital Football Junior Advisory Group (JAG) as well as artfully smoothing out our club communications. Jennifer organised the clubs involvement in the Football4All programme. Thank you both for your efforts.
Save the Date
Please put Sunday 7th Nov, 4pm into your calendars for the club AGM at the Brooklyn Community Centre. The annual report will be provided closer to the date.
AND remember we are looking for (and need) a new treasurer and communications person. You may have a committee member reminding you of this over the next month.
Futsal
If players are keen to continue working on their football skills in the off season, Futsal will be available again at the ASB Sports Centre on Sundays in Term 4. It runs for 6 weeks from 31st Oct - 12th Dec (excl. 21st Nov). There are mixed and girls only leagues. The club is not involved in these teams so a parent needs to coordinate entry and payment. However, the club is happy to provide the playing shirts.
Registration is done on the Capital Football website. If you are entering a team and need playing shirts then please let the club know.
Twilight Football
Another way players can keep up their skills is 5aside Twilight Summer Football at Te Whaea. Each team plays 10-14 weeks of Football, 1 game per week, winding up before Xmas. A kids league is offered. The club is not involved in these teams so a parent needs to coordinate entry and payment. However, the club is happy to provide the playing shirts. More details can be found here. If you are entering a team and need playing shirts then please let the club know.
